Her personality is big enough to brighten up a room when she enters. If there’s a female DJ in town who looks as good as she sounds, it’s Andi. It’s not hard to see why she’s won over so many people and can be heard on radio as co-host to Magic 89.9 shock jock Mo Twister and Mojo Jojo, in Good Times, who already have their TV show on the same title aired at Studio 23 every Tuesday, 11pm. Moreover, she is also a former sports commentator (UAAP), and her thrilling credential as an MTV VJ.

Andi’s youthful charisma and bubbly persona grabbed the attention of her manager Tommy Tanchanco, managing director of 12 Stone Records to sign her up. It was in 2005, when Tommy discovered her at the shoot of Rocksteddy’s music video for their hit “Lagi Mo Na Lang Akong Dinededma,” where she played as female love interest.

A Communication Arts junior at Mirriam College, Andi which is short for her name Andrea Bianca Martin Manzano, started out on television at an early age. She did “Ang TV” when she was 13 years old; she was also coaxed to star in G-mik, a teen show in ABS-CBN. She has also appeared in a variety of print ad & endorsement (Robinson’s, Fuji, Pond’s, Samsung, etc.) and TV commercials (Nestea, Ph Care, Creamsilk, Vaseline, Globe and Ellips.) Apart from the experience she is getting right now as commercial model, event host, radio jock, MTV VJ, and sportscaster, she has her studies to gear herself up for a very bright future in the entertainment industry.

Every year, new faces emerge in the entertainment industry but only a few get noticed. Sharon Yu is one such personality with a promising career ahead.

This 19 year old chinky-eyed beauty started appearing in commercials for brands like Mamma Mia, Loaded and Nam Milk (a Vietnam brand). But the Advertising Management major would later prove, she is not just another pretty face. Sharon was taken in (year) as courtside reporter for the UAAP Games representing her school DLSU beating hundreds of fellow students who auditioned. Aside from the games, viewers kept themselves glued on her as she reports her campus’ sports statistics, strategies and happenings.

Having no formal training in hosting, she learned the ropes along the way.

“I started very raw, so each time I faced the camera became a learning process and making mistakes is inevitable when learning. But in my case, committing boo boos witnessed by UAAP fans around the world tended to be unforgivable at times. Then again, I did my best to learn from it quickly which helped me build a stronger character. I’m blessed to have met people in the industry who helped me, so a big part of my progress would be devoted to my mentors,” Sharon said.

Sharon looks up to Diane Castillejo whom she describes as “timeless” as well as Boom Gonzales, Sam Oh and Sev Sarmenta with his “animated aura.”

However, the hosting bug caught up at a later time.

“Hosting per se wasn’t on top of mind. Rather it was more of experiencing something overwhelming outside of school. Sportscasting gave me that thrill and I instantly fell in love with it, hosting after the season served as a bonus,” Sharon said.

Sharon now enjoys hosting so much that she didn’t feel she is working at all.

“I’m also a chatterbox by nature so hosting for me isn’t a profession, it’s a lifestyle,” Sharon said.

Aside from hosting, Sharon is likewise a musical person with a huge love for singing and listens to alternative, pop, RnB and OPM music.

“Singing is something I can never get tired of. I can even present myself to sing in front of a crowd and not get embarrassed! Alongside that passion is my knack for playing the piano. At a tender age of 4, I was able to play “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” by ear. I’m not good at reading notes though, I’m more into widowing. I’m also into graphic design, which initially stemmed from vanity haha,” Sharon said.

How does she see herself five years from now?

“Still doing the things I love to do, one of which is hosting,” Sharon said.
Mention the name Dylan and these things will come to mind--- JACK TV, DJ and not to mention both HOT and COOL.

A rock music aficionados day will not be complete without listening to the 3 to 6pm slot of NU107 with her dishing the latest rock and alternative tunes. Guys kept themselves glued on the boob tube as she interviews the coolest celebs, attends the hippest parties and updates them on the latest shows via the PEEP SHOW on JACK TV. Yup, did I mention the hippest parties? Seems like every cool event in town, she’s in it hosting. Guys like him. Girls wan to be like her.

Dylan Vizcarra is indeed a force both on and off-cam. She started her career in hosting in 2003 as a disc jockey for rock/ alternative radio station NU 107 after stints in the hotel and advertising industry. With her gift of gab, Dylan quickly connected with her audience and established a following. Her DJing opened doors for other hosting jobs like corporate events, parties and concerts.

“You get exceptionally trained in the art of avoiding long awkward silences hence, the perfect transition to hosting events. Plus, you’re a little better known than the average bear. Your name sort of rings a bell and if people are comfortable listening to you on the radio then surely, they wouldn’t mind having you host their events,” Dylan said.

But the biggest break proved to be the hosting stint on the PEEP SHOW on cable channel JACK TV where she brings her upbeat personality. More people got to see the face behind the name they hear on radio through this show.

Dylan realized she has the knack for the job upon seeing other hosts.
“I thought: ‘Hey, I can do that, too! I can talk into the microphone, ham it up, do interviews and still get a decent salary!’ It seemed to me like a very, very cool job. I wanted it right away,” Dylan said.
But whether hosting on radio, TV or events, to be an effective host, she believes in five things.
“There’s no definite formula to guarantee that you’ll be 100 percent effective all the time but I’ve learned that nothing beats: 1) having a great sense of humor 2) being relaxed with your audience 3) being familiar with the event and your script 4) being yourself and 5) not being drunk,” Dylan said.

On her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, watching football, basketball and billiards. She considers herself an excellent swimmer and also dabbles in basketball and football. With her quick wit, natural flair to strike the right chord with the audiences, we will definitely see more of Dylan for years to come.
